RE: Cassier Highway

We are currently in Hyder and there are very few fish thus very few Bears. The Rangers keep saying that the fish are late and that they should be here at any time.

Travel through Seattle

We will be heading up I-5 on our way to Alaska in a couple of weeks. We will be going through the Seattle area on a Tuesday in the mid afternoon. Is it better to go up I-5 or I-405 at that time.
Thanks

RE: Anchorage Campground

It appears that Fred Meyers may be the best bet for a short stay. Apparently there are three Fred Meyers in Anchorage. Which one would be the best?

Anchorage Campground

I have heard that the best campground in Anchorage closed a couple of years ago. So what is the best option of the remaining campgrounds?

Bedroom Slideout Gear Motor

My bedroom slideout has a Dewald Gearmotor.(They have been taken over by powergear). Under normal operation, at the end of the cycle the gearmotor pushes the slide up against the seals and shuts down by a current limiting device. Now the slideout does not get that final push up against the slides and the motor keeps running. The motor keeps running, there is a threaded rod coming out of the side of the gear box and is also turning, but the shaft going to the pinion gear is not turning. The gearmotor drives the slide in and out fine with no abnormal noise, so it can't be a striped gear. I have to assume that there is some kind of clutch inside the gearbox. The threaded rod coming out of the side of the gear box does have a nut on it and I wonder if this is an adjustment for a clutch. I tried calling Power Gear and the lading who answered the phone was quite frank. She said that I could leave a message but they would not call me back if I wasn't a dealer. (Nice customer service). Any advice would be appreciated.

RE: 50 Amp service reads 30 amps

I have an Intellitec energy management system. It also started to not recognize 50 amp. service. It recognized the generator and 30 amps, but not 50 amps. I called the Manufacture and they said that the only fix was to replace a $400 board. That was a couple of years ago, the board is probably twice that now.

RE: ABS Light

My ABS light came on after I had the front wheel bearings serviced. I took it back and it took them all of 15 seconds to fix. Said that it was a loose wire on the right front.
